WGC 2013 and beyond…

Inspire a Generation – Gymnastics for All and Elite Development

Both the Olympic and Paralympic Games during the summer of 2012 achieved their vision of inspiring a generation. As a club it is our responsibility to build upon those games and ensure a lasting legacy. The next generation of gymnasts, coaches and judges train and coach in our gym every day. It is the responsibility of our DoC alongside the heads of each section and the committee of WGC to to developing a culture of excellence in providing high quality gymnastics training and competition opportunities in a safe and secure environment. We have a responsibility to provide all of our members with a fulfilling and enjoyable gymnastics experience.

We also have a responsibility to identify those children with a real talent and then identify the right coach in the right discipline to work with them so that as a club we enable them to achieve their potential. We have a fantastic training facility at Waterside and our Director of Coaching believes that with the right coaches working with our most talented gymnasts we should in time produce members of County, Regional and National squads across the different disciplines. We want to work with our local schools to identify talented individuals and then provide them with training programmes to develop their potential.
